Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development Launches “educing infant formula

Under the patronage of the Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Social Development, Eng. Sultan ibn Jaris Al-Jaris, under the supervision of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, Almarai launched the initiative "Reducing infant formula"  for the children of newborn social security beneficiaries up to the age of two years. This came during the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the two parties. The ministry was represented in the signing by the Assistant Undersecretary for Policies and Legislation, Dr. Hamad ibn Ibrahim Al-Hammad, while Almarai was represented by the Executive Vice President for Corporate Communication and Marketing, Mr. Munther Mahmoud Tayeb.

Through the memorandum, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development seeks to build and develop partnerships with government agencies and the private sector to achieve its development strategy to support social security beneficiaries and contribute to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The initiative of educing infant formula is part of social responsibility initiatives aimed at improving the conditions of beneficiaries and focuses on providing milk as an essential part of proper nutrition for children.

Eligible social security beneficiaries can benefit from the initiative starting from October 1, 2024, by going to the dispensing outlets of drug pharmacies in all regions of the Kingdom, where the beneficiary will receive 50% educed infant formula and a maximum of (8) cans per month (400 grams per can) for each child within the age group specified in the family.


It should be noted that this initiative comes after the end of the previous milk subsidy period in accordance with Royal Order No. (2536) issued on: 10-01-1445 AH (28-07-2023 AD), which is limited to (one year) since the date of its decision. The initiative also comes within the initiatives supervised by the Ministry on an ongoing basis in supporting social security beneficiaries for improving their living conditions. 

Through the signing of this memorandum, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development seeks to implement its strategic objectives in integration with various entities in the government, non-profit and private sectors and to empower the individual and society, based on its vision of a vibrant possible society and a distinguished work environment.
