Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Chairs Saudi Delegation at G20 Labor and Employment Ministers' Meeting in Brazil

His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Eng. Ahmed bin Suleiman Al-Rajhi chaired the Saudi delegation participating in the G20 Labor and Employment Ministers' Meeting, held from July 25-26, 2024, in Fortaleza, Brazil. The meeting included participation from labor and employment ministers of G20 member states, invited countries, international and regional organization heads, and representatives from civil society organizations.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Rajhi made several interventions, expressing gratitude to the Brazilian presidency for its outstanding efforts throughout the year. He emphasized the importance of the G20's labor and employment priorities, which aim to develop labor markets. He reviewed Saudi Arabia's proactive steps and the impact of Vision 2030 in preparing a distinguished national workforce by enhancing values, developing essential and future skills, advancing knowledge, and ensuring decent work for all. He reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment to improving labor standards and conditions, including social security, to empower beneficiaries through training, qualification, and job opportunities.

Minister Al-Rajhi also highlighted Saudi Arabia's efforts in promoting gender equality and its significance in achieving sustainable economic growth and social development. He discussed initiatives related to increasing women's participation in the labor market and empowering women to take on diverse roles across various economic sectors.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Al-Rajhi thanked the Brazilian government for its hospitality and efforts in setting significant and impactful priorities. He wished the Republic of South Africa success in its upcoming presidency of the group.
