Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud Mishaal Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, on Wednesday the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development organized the Skills and Training Forum "Wa'ad" in Jeddah Governorate, in the presence of His Highness Prince Dr. Faisal Muhammad bin Saad, Advisor to the Governor of Makkah Region, General Supervisor of the Region Agency; His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor Dr. Abdullah Nasser Abu Thunain and a group of concerned experts and specialists in the field of skills and training in Makkah region.

During the forum, part of the outputs of the national training campaign "Waad" was directed to allocate more than 90,000 training opportunities for the sons and daughters of the region, provided by 8 partner institutions in "Waad" campaign, namely "Arab National Bank, Walaa Cooperative Insurance Company, Saudi Electricity Company, Al Rabie Companies, Al Hokair Tourism and Development, Abdullah Al Othaim Investment, Nesma & partners, Mobily, and Aqouat Al Baik Company.”

The figures of the National Training Campaign "Waad", launched by the Ministry in cooperation with the private sector, indicate that 1,007,000 training opportunities out of 1,155,000 targeted opportunities were achieved, with a completion rate of 82%.

The Forum is the first of its kind in Makkah region. It included a set of leading initiatives in the field of training and skills development, which were designed to strengthen the capabilities of national cadres, encourage the private sector to contribute to their empowerment, and increase their participation in the labor market, as well as many initiatives and programs related to training and skills development, career guidance, training opportunities, and opportunities for skills development and a dialogue session under the title of Cooperative Training for Students.
It is worth noting that the Forum comes within a series of forums dedicated to enhancing skills and training across regions. It is the product of the outputs of the national training campaign "Waad", where the first version thereof was launched in Arar, then AlKhobar, and currently in Jeddah Governorate, provided that its comprehensive tours shall be completed in the future in all regions of the Kingdom.
