Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Issues Ministerial Decree to Amend Flexible Work Regulations

His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Eng. Ahmed Suleiman Al-Rajhi issued a decision amending the organization of flexible work issued by Ministerial Resolution No. (146481) dated 07/09/1441 AH.

The Ministerial Resolution stipulated the amendment of Article (27) of the Executive Regulations of the Labor Law to develop the organization of flexible work. This aligns with the Ministry's continuous endeavors to review labor market regulations, support the stability and growth of enterprises, preserve the rights of workers, and increase the attractiveness and flexibility of the labor market.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development affirmed its keenness through the organization of flexible work to create job opportunities for job seekers, and to provide jobs for workers wishing to increase their income, through a flexible contractual organization in which the wage is on an hourly basis. It also worked to preserve the rights of both parties and raise the percentage of safety and credibility by launching a flexible work platform to document work contracts electronically.

The organization of flexible work offers attractive advantages to establishments and individuals, including Enhancing the readiness of job seekers to enter the labor market and enabling them to practice the necessary professional skills, while reducing employment-related costs, with over 35,000 workers benefiting from the organization of flexible work since its launch.

The Ministry explained that the new amendments included amendments in item (Second) of Article (27), the most important of which was raising the number of working hours for the flexible worker to 160 hours per month at one facility. The amendments also included calculating a full point for the establishment in Nitaqat when completing a total of 160 flexible working hours for the worker or group of workers.
