Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, extended his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Highness the Crown Prince - may God protect them - on the occasion of the issuance of the Cabinet's approval of the regulation of social and vocational programs for persons with disabilities, as well as the organizational regulations For non-governmental social facilities for persons with disabilities.
Eng. Al-Rajhi said that this approval comes as an extension of the unlimited support that the human resources and social development system enjoys from the wise leadership, which pays special attention to supporting the development process, integrating and empowering persons with disabilities, raising the level of services provided to them and improving their quality of life in various fields to be active members of society.
H.E. Al Rajhi pointed out that the regulations took into account through their articles the rights of persons with disabilities in international conventions and the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which stressed the importance of providing all services and facilities for persons with disabilities, achieving the maximum means of well-being, a decent living, and social life for them, rehabilitating them and working to integrate them into society.
The regulations for social and vocational programs included the creation and development of a number of materials that support the provision of social programs and services whose quality is comparable to international practices, as well as the development of vocational programs that aim to train persons with disabilities, empower them, and develop their skills to be active members with their families and in society.
Furthermore, the regulations for non-governmental social facilities for people with disabilities included a set of procedures and rules, such as obtaining licenses to open social service centers for persons with disabilities and enhancing social responsibility by allowing the private and non-profit sectors to invest in providing social and training programs for persons with disabilities.
