Around 11.4m customers utilize e-services in last ten months, MLSD says

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) announced the number of customers who used its e-services has reached 11,395,537 users in the past ten months of the current Hijri year.

 

Out of which 7,855,568 users mainly executed renewal of permits via the ministry’s portal compared to 6,401,484 users who benefited from service of permit applications, resulting in issuance of 981,372 permits and 32,031 temporary permits.

 

According to the ministry, expatriates managed via the e-services to obtain 35,952 final exit visas and 231,556 branch change certificates, 146,059 profession change certificates and 924,942 service transfers, while firms got 13,290 activity change certificates.

 

Moreover, the number of registered users reached 58,938 alongside 5,570 representatives, 1,646 delegates and 31,273 owners. A total of 2,423 visa requests were submitted by the firms to recruit workers from abroad as 435,887 users issued online nationalization certificates.

 

By utilizing the e-services, 91,009 users cancelled their visa requests, 213,979 users submitted reports of absent workers, 110,613 users cancelled reports of absent workers and 34,087 users transferred services of dependents.

 

A total of 140,466 users opened firm files in order to utilize s-service with 117,645 who obtained visas balance for overseas recruitment and 137,779 who got their visas processed.

 

The ministry said its e-portal provides a number of features including, provision of contents in both Arabic and English and the development of open data and interactive map that guides social security beneficiaries through the portal.

 

It publishes a raft of labor and social development regulations under one umbrella, as well as offers online instant chats for the visitors as well.

 

It contains a unified labor and social development e-services guide and latest events that allow the stakeholders to review them.

 

The ministry said the development of the portal relies on open-source programming that can be accessible via https://mlsd.gov.sa. it comes as part of the e-government executive plan which is in cooperation of the e-Government Program (Yesser), added the ministry. 

 

Additionally, the portal comes within the ministry’s efforts to tighten the government expenses regarding issuance of permits and to expand capacity of its programming as it is one of the first government entities that adopts the open-source portal.
