The Minister of Human Resources announces the launching of the first session of the Global Labor Market Conference to be held next December

His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al Rajhi, announced that the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development will organize the Global Labor Market Conference (GLMC), during the period of coming 13-14 December in Riyadh, with the participation of a pantheon of elite international experts and specialists, and a number of ministers and officials, as well as the government officials from all over the world, besides the heads of international and professional organizations.

His Excellency further explained that this conference demonstrates the interest of the shrewd visionary Saudi leadership - may Allah pour His providence upon - in developing the Saudi labor market, and enhancing its level of attractiveness and competitiveness at a global level through providing the conference a dedicated platform for exchanging knowledge and sharing the experiences and innovative practices of the group of elite specialists in this field. H.E expressed also the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia desire to see the Saudi labor market as an international model in applying global best practices that all the world will follow by. 

H.E Minister Al Rajhi said that the conference is the first of its kind that seeks to provide a unified global platform that gather all parties, including governments, institutions, experts, academics and concerned parties, to bring up visions and unify their efforts to develop the labor market. whereas these experiences can be used to come up with creative solutions that help in facing common global challenges. 

H.E added that the conference also focuses on eight main tracks or quests: The most prominent highlighted influences and directions in the global labor market; skills and productivity; modern work patterns; and remote work; in addition to policies and legislations related to labor markets and methods of its development, and the impact of technical development and artificial intelligence on the future of labor markets, as well as countries’ experiences in restructuring the labor market and the lessons learned consequently, equality concept and work environment.

The Minister pointed out that the conference will help devise a number of actionable visions to address challenges, develop globally common solutions, and enhance the capabilities of the international community for meeting the needs of the labor market, whereas there is a supply and demand for the workforce. H.E asserted that the success of the ambitious goals of the conference requires broad participation of experts and specialists of the labor market, and those concerned with this sector all around the world.
