The Board of Directors of the Authority for the Care of Persons with Disabilities chaired by the Minister of Labor and Social Development and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi announced the appointment of Dr. Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Haidari as the executive head of the Authority. Dr. Al-Haidari has worked at specialized rehabilitation and rehabilitation facilities for more than 20 years, during which he presided over and managed centers and hospitals such as King Fahad Medical Rehabilitation Hospital and Prince Sultan Center for Special Education Services, He also holds a PhD in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation from the University of Loma Linda, California. Al-Haidari presented many scientific researches specialized in rehabilitation and physiotherapy, and participated in a number of scientific workshops and conferences. Article 2 of the regulation issued by the Council of Ministers stipulates the establishment of a body called the "Authority for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities" which is organizationally linked to the Minister of Labor and Social Development, enjoys legal personality and financial and administrative independence. The Commission also aims to ensure that persons with disabilities have access to their disability-related rights and to strengthen the services provided by them to assist them in obtaining the necessary care and rehabilitation, in addition to raising the level of prevention and taking necessary measures in coordination and cooperation with the relevant authorities.
