H.E. Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis launched on Sunday a newly unified version of the ministry’s e-portal that combines both labor and social development e-services, which took place at the MLSD Headquarters.

Khaled Abalkhail, spokesman for the MLSD, emphasized the important features that appear in the modified portal including provision of contents in both Arabic and English languages and development of open data and an interactive map that guides social security beneficiaries through the portal.

Abalkhail mentioned that the portal publishes a raft of labor and social development regulations under one umbrella and provides online instant chats for the visitors as well.

It contains a unified labor and social development e-services guide and latest events in the form of detailed calendars that allow the stakeholders to have look at, added the spokesman.

Abalkhail clarified that the aim of initiative is to provide a full-fledged e-platform in two languages and facilitate the beneficiaries’ journey to the e-services and programs that the ministry offers on the portal.

The ministry said the development of the portal depends on open-source programming that can be accessible via https://mlsd.gov.sa., which comes within the second phase of its e-government plan in cooperation with the e-Government Program (Yesser).

Additionally, the portal comes as part of the ministry’s efforts to tighten the government expenses on issuing licenses as well as develop diverse programming. The ministry mentioned that it is one of the first government entities that adopts the open-source portal.
