His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, held a meeting with His Excellency the Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom, Mr. Tsukasa Imura, this morning, Monday, 29 Dhul Qa'dah 1441, corresponding to July 20, 2020, through visual communication technology, to discuss a number of issues of common interest, and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation In the fields of human resources and social development between the Kingdom and Japan.

The meeting took place in the presence of His Excellency the Deputy Minister for Labor, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abu Nassin, and His Excellency the Undersecretary for International Affairs, Professor Maher bin Abdulrahman Al-Qasim. At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the Minister welcomed His Excellency the Ambassador and commended Japan's presidency of the G20 in the previous session and its chairmanship of participating in the troika of the Employment Working Group in the current session. Saudi Arabia in all fields, stressing that it contributes effectively to developing joint efforts for the benefit of the two countries, especially the cooperation in the fields of human resources and social development.

The two sides discussed the impact of the Corona pandemic on the labor market, and His Excellency Dr. Abu Nainain reviewed the most important initiatives launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to reduce the impact of the pandemic on the labor market and the workforce, and the ambassador commended the Kingdom's efforts to address the pandemic, especially as the Japanese community residing in the Kingdom touched efforts.

The meeting also included a discussion of the priorities of the Employment Working Group of the Group of Twenty, and the ambassador emphasized their importance, especially in light of the developments taking place in the world at the present time. It is reported that such meetings aim at exchanging experiences and expertise, enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of human resources and social development, and supporting bilateral relations in a way that serves the common interests of both parties.
